How to Care for Microfiber

Taking care of your microfiber products is pretty easy, there are just a few things that you should remember to keep your products effective and long lasting. You can wash and dry your microfiber products in your household washer and dryer, with warm water and low heat.To keep your microfiber "like new":

* Do not use Bleach
* Do not use Fabric Softener
* Do not wash with other cotton products.

Microfiber products do not like bleach, bleach breaks down the polyester and polyamide micro-filiments, rendering them less effective. Fabric softeners provide a layer of "softeness" on your clothing, which is nice for clothing that you wear, but this coating clogs the microfibers, rendering them less effective. It is not that microfiber products do not like cotton products or other fabrics, it is that when you wash your cotton products with microfiber the microfiber products grab and hold onto the lint that the cotton produces. So if you do not want your microfiber towels to lint then you should not wash them with cotton products.Some users of microfiber, automotive, janitorial, need a more effective way to remove dirt, grime, oils, and etc. from their microfiber towels, and Household detergents just don't do the job. Many users like to keep their microfibers in prestine condition, for this there is the original Micro-Restore Microfiber Detergent.

It's a towel right? just a towel?

No, my friend, it isn't just a towel. It is the last thing to touch the paint before your client, neighbor, camera, or car club sees your work. Right here is the little bit of fabric tool that is the opposite of the wash mitt. Where the mitt is the first tool to touch the paint, the towel is the last. The fact is, this little towel is what finalizes your legend as a car enthusiast or detailer.

Do yourself a favor, get towels, use towels, and learn how to clean and care for them. To put things in perspective how much I love DD's towels. Back, when Phil and I were much younger and virile, I would do between 14 to 20 loads of towels a week. It takes a tremendous number of towels to run a detail business. Phil, Detailers Domain always offers the best quality for the money. I've still got bins of towels from back then.

But towels age, they have a finite lifespan. They get dropped, they are a wear item. When their performance fades, buy new towels, give the old ones to the spousal unit, turn them into interior detailing towels. I'm still using towels from DD in our house from 15 years ago. So, yeah, Phil picks quality stuff.

So, how do you make your towels last longer?
First, don't drop them; put them in your rinse bucket after the wash. keep them out of the dirt.
Second, wash them. I use detergent, with an ounce or two of Nextzett blitz. Yeah, I am not kidding, and yes I still have bins of them from 15 years ago that I use on the interior of my personal cars.
Third, Dry thoroughly without fabric softener. store in dry container out of the way of dust and debris.
Fourth, when they don't cut it for paint, replace them, save your self the time. Move the worn paint ones to your interior detailing.

Great towels--MAKE SURE YOU WASH ALONE

I just received these towels today and gave them a try. They are a good medium pile towel. They are very soft! DO NOT WASH WITH ANYTHING ELSE! COLOR BLEEDS! I was just trying out some new products on a test panel and decided to throw them and a Blue Foam polishing pad in the wash. The pad went in blue and came out COMPLETELY black. Looked like the pad should have come black it was so dark. After seeing this I felt the need to let other buyers know. All in all I DO recommend this towel but wash alone until colors stop bleeding.

Great Towels

For a long time I used Costco's yellow microfiber towels. A few months ago I tried Uber towels and quickly noticed how good they are. They perform like new even after a few wash cycles. No streaks, no swirls, and they absorb well. Bottom line = Uber > Costco (at least for microfiber towels).
