To the men who pioneered the clay pad Idea

We fought them tooth and nail back in the ages of old. True detailers used clay bars; the best detailers smuggled the good bars in from Europe in blocks of stinky cheese. Horsepoop. I listened to the likes of Bud Abraham and tried out his clay pads. They were not better than my stinky cheese clay bars. They were faster and lasted far longer. I got used to using them on my client's daily drivers, Even though you had to deal with the rub-marring and no clay lube I tried properly lubricated the clay pads.

Remember the maxim folks, if you clay, you polish; if you want to polish you must first clay.

Years went by, and I found myself bereft of quality gear; my machines, pads, polishes, clay and supplies had dwindled down to a bucket and mitt. So, I rang up the greatest wealth of knowledge I know, Sue at Detailers Domain. She was on the lunch run, so I talked to Phil. :P

Combined with a modern clay lube these pads are fantastic. I Clayed, rinsed, and dried my wife's 17 RS in record time. For reference, we live a mile and a half down a dirt road. I did it when there was direct sun, 90 degrees, and 80% humidity. Out here we get sap, tar, bitumen, dust, and pollen bonding to paint. Claying the cars is a general and overall pain in the back. Not so with this clay pad. It cut through the remaining bits of tar, sap, pollen, embedded dust, and bitumen with ease.

I am positive it could do it with a cheap clay lube, but then you'd get to deal with rub-marring if it left any. Do yourself a favor, and save yourself those extra hours. Buy a great Clay lube, buy this awesome clay pad and move on to the polishing when done.

Works very well
Nice alternative to a clay bar, which I never looked forward to using
